Arnaldo Zanella (1949), was born in Saint Erasmus, a small island of the venetian lagoon, at three minutes from Murano the glass manufactoring island.
Most of people born and living in such a small piece of land, dedicate their life to agriculture and vegetables but Arnaldo’s life had to be different.
Since his very first youth he fell in love with glass and in the same time he could help his family, with the fruit of his work.
Visiting a furnace with one of his relatives, seing kiln operating, the heat and men bathed in perspiration, he took an obvious decision.
He wanted to be one of them but with a lot of good will. His good will, will be admired in future.
Around the years fifty-sixty the most popular and important organization onto the island was Seguso Vetri d’Arte, a real breeding ground for artists.
He worked side by side with Alfredo Barbini, Angelo Seguso, Ermanno Nason, Pino Signoretto and several others.
Angelo Seguso decided to have him as helper.
He was properly talented for Seguso’s kind of work and in very shortly, step by step, he became an essential member for the team.
When Pino Signoretto opened his own furnace-studio ( 1978 ) Arnaldo follows the friend in the new venture.
At that time, he could attend evening courses in drawing, where a local artist was interested to teach artistic design to young master-blower, to rise their cultural level.
Takind advantage from the experience of Angelo Seguso and Pino Signoretto, he was now ready and able to proceed independently as Maestro (master-blower), at the highest level. In 1985, with some friends opens a furnace-studio “Andromeda”.
He always had a predilection for bright coloured opalescent glass and such a characteristic made of Arnaldo an innovator in the sculpted glass.
His love for nature suggested him to spend as much time he could to study, develope and reproducing animals, horses above all, tropical and colourfull birds in a large number on glass trees and so on.
Unfortunately the experience with his friends has a negative end.
Arnaldo is a poet of the last generation, deeply appreciated by the connoisseurs from all continents.
Since 1991 he works in and for the fraternal friend Oscar Zanetti in the Zanetti Arte Vetro Corporation.
